GCSE Work
Art was one of my favourite subjects at school, therefore I decided to
continue taking it at GCSE level. Overall I achieved an A grade, but I
found the pieces I produced during the 10 hour exam time more
rewarding than even the grade itself! I have included my final exam
pieces and some of my prep. work on this page.

I wanted my GCSE

either a pair of
hands, or one hand,

the camera, so this
is one of my
practise pieces

When studying hands, I decided to look at how
hands may be decorated - in this tonal drawing I
included a henna tattoo across the hand.

Final pieces of preparation work  (on A1 paper) - I decided to
have the background to my final piece showing a bridge over
water, and this scene would also be present in the view finder
of the camera. Mostly watercolour practises, with some pastel
included too.

at different positioning for ideas of the composition in my
final piece.

practise pieces that use different media and composition. I
decided my final piece should be a mixed-media piece, to make
it visually interesting and dramatic. I decided to use tonal pencil
for the hands, tonal pencil and coloured pencil for the camera
and image in the view finder, and watercolour for the
background.
